Source and order parts as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Rebuild and maintain construction equipment, such as\u00a0On-Road\u00a0Highway Trucks,\u00a0Loaders, Backhoes, Trackhoes, Articulated Trucks, Scrapers, Motor\u00a0Graders,\u00a0Bulldozers,\u00a0Rollers, Skid\u00a0Steers,\u00a0etc.<\/li>\n<li>Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.<\/li>\n<li>Examine parts for damage and\/or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.<\/li>\n<li>Remove, repair, or replace major components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, steering boxes, fuel injection pumps, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Repair or replace components of the cooling, braking, steering,\u00a0suspension,\u00a0exhaust,\u00a0electrical,\u00a0or hydraulic systems.<\/li>\n<li>Test overhauled equipment to ensure\u00a0that it is\u00a0operating efficiently.<\/li>\n<li>Perform welding,\u00a0brazing,\u00a0and\u00a0fabricating,\u00a0to\u00a0modify parts, equipment, miscellaneous\u00a0structures,\u00a0and\u00a0attachments.<\/li>\n<li>Complete all work orders (including warranty information) and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Take advantage of all opportunities to attend schools and training sessions in order to upgrade technical competence.<\/li>\n<li>Use computer to diagnose problems.<\/li>\n<li>Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Photograph equipment when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Must keep service truck and equipment\u00a0clean and\u00a0in\u00a0good working\u00a0order.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties\u00a0and responsibilities\u00a0may be assigned\u00a0by supervisors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Skills and Qualifications:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired.<\/li>\n<li>Those with an education and\/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years of\u00a0experience as a heavy equipment mechanic\u00a0or\u00a0a\u00a0combination of education and experience.<\/li>\n<li>Must have a Class A or Class B CDL.<\/li>\n<li>Must have a valid Medical Card per Department of Transportation (DOT) standard.<\/li>\n<li>Must be capable of managing and maintaining\u00a0own tools\u00a0and parts.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to read, analyze, and comprehend schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Possess strong attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft products, Smartphone, and iPad.<\/li>\n<li>Display a willing attitude to learn from others.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent\u00a0written and verbal\u00a0communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to\u00a0work\u00a0under minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to work\u00a0effectively\u00a0in a team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Reliable transportation to get to and from work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts\u00a0as\u00a0needed, and work outside of normal hours.<\/li>\n<li>Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to\u00a060 pounds frequently.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Das-co Values:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abrazar la propiedad<\/li>\n<li>ser honorable<\/li>\n<li>Elevar equipo<\/li>\n<li>Valor seguridad<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic is a skilled craft position that is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on various pieces of equipment in the field.
